Neptune opened her eyes and quickly sat up. At first, she couldn’t remember where she was, but soon she remembered. “Oh right. I’m still trying to activate that final Fairy Tower in Leanbox.” Neptune thought, as she rubbed the back of her head. Neptune turned her eyes towards the left and saw Nepgear was still sound asleep.
Nepgear’s eyes were closed and her breaths were shallow. Neptune couldn’t help, but blush as she moved a few stray hairs that had fallen into Nepgear’s closed eyes. “She looks just like an angel.” Neptune thought, before she unzipped the front of the tent and crawled outside.
The sun was just rising over the horizon, but even so it was still quite dark. Neptune was surprised to see a fire had already been started and Vert was sitting on a log. The girl held her hands out to the flames. “Good morning Neptune.” Vert said, sweetly.
“Good morning. Cave sleeping in too?” Neptune asked.
“No. She’s gathering more firewood.” Said Vert. “I was just waiting for things to heat up before I started making tea. I’m afraid were going to have to eat breakfast bars this morning.”
“Shoot.” Neptune said, as she took a seat on a log across from Vert. Neptune held her hands out to the flames as well. “So… How did you sleep?”
“Terrible.” Said Vert. “If only I had Nepgear to cuddle with last night.”
Neptune took a deep breath and smiled. “I think I’m finally getting used to you Vert.” Neptune said, as she raked her fingers through her hair. “Anyways, how far away from the last Fairy Tower are we?”
“We still have a few days left. Were about to reach a small village though.” Said Vert. “We can restock our supplies, maybe stay in a hotel.”
“Sounds good.” Said Neptune. “These days are getting a bit repetitive, huh? Walk, find village, stay in hotel, wacky shenanigans happen. Dull, dull.” Said Neptune, as she began kicking her feet.
Vert giggled and shrugged her shoulders. “You have a point.”
“Yeah, but Nepgear and I have been doing this for such a long time! I honestly can’t wait to go home and take it easy for a while.” Said Neptune, taking a deep breath before slowly releasing the air.
“I understand.” Said Vert. “I too wish to go home and relax for a while.”
Neptune didn’t say anything for a moment, but soon she started giggling which caused Vert to tilt her head thoughtfully to the right. “Sorry. I’m not laughing at you, but I just realized something.”
“What’s that?” Asked Vert.
“Well for you. The further away from your house we get, the closer you get to going back. Just a weird thought.” Said Neptune.
“Oh?” Said Vert, confused.
“Yeah. Remember once we activate all the Fairy Towers in Leanbox, you’ll be able to teleport between them.” Said Neptune.
Vert’s eyes went wide for a second. “Oh that’s right!” She said. “Let’s not have the same conversation we had the last time we talked about teleporting.”
“Yeah. I kind of freaked myself out with that theory of mine.” Neptune said, nervously scratching her right cheek.
“G-Good morning…” Nepgear breathed, as she crawled out from the tent. Neptune and Vert watched as Nepgear crawled on all fours over to Neptune and instead of sitting on the log, the girl rested her head on Neptune’s lap.
“Morning sleepy head!” Neptune said, in her usual chipper voice.
“I’m so tired…” Nepgear breathed.
“Couldn’t sleep?” Vert asked.
“No.” Said Nepgear.
“Cause you couldn’t stop thinking about Yvoire?” Neptune asked.
“No.” Said Nepgear, turning her eyes towards her sister. “It’s because you wouldn’t stop cuddling me last night.”
“What?!” Vert said, her eyes started sparkling. “You two were cuddling last night?”
“Neptune was. I was trying to sleep.” Said Nepgear.
“Really?” Neptune said, tapping her lower lip thoughtfully. “I had a dream last night that I was hugging something warm and cuddly. That must have been you Nepgear!” Neptune said, blushing and giggling.
“Yes. I didn’t mind it at the beginning, but you wouldn’t stop.” Nepgear said, groaning loudly. “Do we have any tea?”
“Oh right!” Vert said, suddenly remembering she was going to make everyone some tea. Vert reaching behind her back and pulled out a kettle. “Here we go.” Vert said, placing the kettle into the fire.
A few moments later Cave returned with an armful of dry sticks. “Good morning everyone.” Cave said.
“Morning!” Neptune said.
“Mmm…” Said Nepgear, not raising her head from Neptune’s lap.
A loud whistling sound came from the kettle, telling Vert her tea was finished. Vert took up the kettle and poured everyone a cup of tea. Nepgear finally lifted her head from Neptune’s lap, took the cup of tea Vert handed her and sipped the dark liquid. “Ahh… Thanks Vert.” Nepgear said, her eyes were closed and her cheeks were bright red.
“You’re welcome dear.” Said Vert, as she sipped her own cup of tea.
Neptune, Nepgear, Vert and Cave drank their tea at the same time. For a split-second everything felt perfect.
When the sun had finally risen, the girls packed up their things. After smothering the fire they continued their journey to the last Fairy Tower.
As the girls walked, Neptune couldn’t help but wonder what her sister was thinking about. For the last few days Nepgear wore a serious expression on her face, but now she seemed happy. Almost content. “Hey Nepgear?” Neptune began.
“What’s up big sister?” Nepgear asked, turning her eyes towards Neptune.
Neptune opened her mouth to ask her sister about Yvoire and how she was feeling about him escaping, but changed her mind. “Nothing. I was just thinking how cuter you are when you’re smiling.”
Nepgear blushed and turned away from her sister. “Come on Neptune. Goodness! Stop trying to embarrass me!”
“Hey if I wanted to embarrass you, I could tell everyone about the time you-” Before Neptune could utter another word, Nepgear had covered her sisters mouth with both hands. “I don’t know what you were about to say, but stop!” Nepgear cried.
Vert giggled, as she watched the entire scene. “Now I’m curious myself.”
“Not you too Vert!” Nepgear cried.
“What’s wrong Nepgear? You’re totally awesome, so of course people want to know more about you! Like the time you-” Once more, Nepgear covered Neptune’s mouth before she could utter another word.
“Stop!” Nepgear cried.
“Having a sibling does seem like fun.” Said Cave.
“Not right now it isn’t.” Nepgear said, sighing deeply.
“Oh please.” Said Vert. “I know you’d rather have Neptune teasing you right now, then no one at all. Right?”
Nepgear sighed once more. “Goodness. Leave me alone!” Nepgear said, trying to sound annoyed, but her smile broke through. “I guess so…” The girl finally admitted.
Nepgear pulled away from her sister as she pulled out her N-Gear and looked down at the screen. “That village Vert mentioned should be coming into view soon. It’s the last one that’s located all the way out here.”
“Alright.” Neptune said, rubbing her hands together as they continued walking. “How much do you want to bet this village has some kind of problem were going to have to deal with?”
“One-thousand credits!” Vert said.
“Ten-thousand credits.” Said Cave.
“One million credits.” Said Nepgear.
“Huh…” Neptune said, tapping her lower lip thoughtfully. “Are you voting for it having problems, or against it?”
“Either way I’ll win.” Said Vert.
Neptune’s shoulders sagged. “Bet’s off. Forget it.” Neptune said, waving her hands dismissively.
As Nepgear said, the village came into view a few moments later. The village wasn’t very big. It was made up of a handful of buildings and it had a small wall located around the entire thing.
As the girls got closer, they kept their eyes open for any signs of monsters or people in distress. “It looks relatively calm.” Said Cave.
“Yeah, but before you know it. Someone’s running up to us, warning us about some kind of monster attack.” Neptune said. “I’ve seen it in video games a million times.”
“This isn’t a video game.” Said Nepgear.
Once the girls reached the village, they were approached by a woman. “Hello.” The woman said.
“See?” Neptune said, taking a few steps towards the lady. “What monster would you like us to slay ma’am.”
“Monster?” The woman said, confused.
“Yeah! You know, the monster that’s been plaguing this village for years? We’ll deal with it chip chop chip or whatever!” Said Neptune.
The woman shook her head. “You must be mistaken. Were not looking for a monster hunter. It’s just my job to welcome travelers.”
“Oh…” Neptune said. Neptune quickly turned to her sister and friends. “Good thing I called off the bet, huh?” Neptune said, giggling nervously.
“I’ll take my one million credits now.” Nepgear said, a wry smile appeared on her face.
“Nepgear! I called it off!” Neptune cried, pretending to be upset.
Vert placed her hands on Neptune’s shoulders and pulled the girl out of her way. “I apologize for our friend. She’s… special.” Vert said, trying to find the right word to describe Neptune. “And thank you for the warm greeting!”
“Of course.” The woman said, smiling brightly at the group of girls.
“We were wondering. Does this village have a general store and perhaps a hotel?” Asked Vert.
“Of course. If you proceed down this road you’ll find the general store and hotel right next to each other.” The woman said, gesturing towards the street behind her.
“Thanks!” Neptune said. “Come girls! To the general store!” Neptune said.
Nepgear groaned loudly as she followed after her sister. “I was wondering.” Nepgear began, when she suddenly thought about something. “Are we really going to spend the night in this village? We still have plenty of time before it gets dark.”
“That’s true, but it’ll be the last village we come across. I just figured we could all use a nice comfortable bed to sleep in tonight. Maybe we could even do a little monster hunting before it gets dark.” Said Vert.
“That’s a good idea.” Said Cave. “I feel as though my skills are getting rusty.”
“If I don’t get some pudding in my belly, my skills get rusty too.” Said Neptune.
“Neptune that’s not…” Vert began, but stopped talking when she saw Nepgear shake her head.
“Actually that might be true. I noticed that Neptune’s fighting skills get worse when she doesn’t eat any pudding.” Said Nepgear.
“See? Nepgear knows her sister well.” Said Neptune.
When the girls reached the general store they bought all the supplies they needed. Even though Neptune was focused on buying pudding packs, she did make sure to get a few other items she knew that they would need. After that they headed over to the hotel and checked into two rooms.
Neptune tossed her backpack onto the first bed she saw and then plopped down on the mattress. “This is my bed.” Neptune said, closing her eyes and placing her hands behind her head.
“Okay.” Said Nepgear, taking a seat on the bed next to it. “This is my bed.”
Neptune raised her head and looked at Nepgear. “So… do you want to go out and do some monster hunting?” Neptune asked. “Even though it’s Vert’s idea, it doesn’t seem like a bad one.”
“Yeesh. You’re so terrible sometimes Neptune.” Nepgear said, leaning back against her bed.
Neptune giggled. “I only tease. I like Vert. I just don’t want her to get her hands on you.” Neptune threw her hands into the air as she spoke. “You’re my baby sister! I have a monopoly on Nepgear!”
Nepgear blushed. “Don’t worry big sister. I love you best.”
Neptune giggled as well. “I love you the best too!”
Nepgear suddenly yelped as she leapt off her bed. This caused Neptune to sit up as well. “What’s wrong?!” Neptune asked.
“Sorry.” Nepgear said, breathing deep. “I put my N-Gear on vibrate. It scared me.” Nepgear pulled out her N-Gear and looked down at the screen. “Ah man! No fair…”
“What is it?” Neptune asked, getting to her feet. Neptune took a seat next to her sister. “Dude! Awesome!” Neptune said, after reading the words on Nepgear’s screen. “5pb. is holding a concert, huh? We should… oh…”
“Exactly. It’s being held in Leanbox.” Said Nepgear, sighing deeply.
Neptune shrugged her shoulders. “Oh well. Were still having fun, right?” Neptune asked, placing her hand on Nepgear’s hand.
“Yeah. We are.” Said Nepgear.
“Now come on.” Neptune stood and pulled Nepgear to her feet. “Let’s go hunt some monsters and then eat some pudding. Or should we eat pudding first and then hunt monsters? Or… and hear me out Nepgear! Should we eat pudding while hunting monsters?”
Nepgear giggled, but didn’t answer. Her sister was right. Even though they weren’t able to see 5pb.’s concert, she was having a blast with her sister.

Neptunia Heart Souls- CHAPTER 84
After Neptune and the other girls handed Yvoire over to the Leanbox authorities, they continued their journey to the final Fairy Tower. As the girls walked, Neptune kept grumbling about wanting to ride in a truck instead of walking to their last destination. However, Neptune quickly changed her tune when she noticed how rocky the ground became.
“Okay. I guess a truck wouldn’t make it out here.” Neptune said, as she began walking around large boulders. “But if we moved the boulders and got rid of a few of those pesky mountains, then maybe we could ride in a truck!” Neptune suggested.
“Good idea.” Said Vert, sarcastically. “Why don’t we just a pave a road all the way out there while were at it.”
Neptune looked at Vert for a few moments without saying a thing. Suddenly she smiled and nodded her head. “Vert’s got the right idea!” The girl said, happily. Everyone, except Cave, groaned under their breaths. “I feel a bit ganged up on right now.” Said Neptune, in a small voice.
The girls continued to walk until the sun began setting over the horizon. After pulling out some camping equipment, Neptune and Nepgear left to gather some firewood. The girls soon returned with armful’s of wood ready to be burned.
Vert had set up a few tents, while Cave dug through Neptune’s bag and pulled out the cooking equipment. “I’ll cook tonight.” Said Cave, in a dully voice.
“Curry?” Neptune suggested.
“Hamburg steak?” Asked Nepgear.
“Not soup I hope.” Said Vert.
“No. Something much better.” Said Cave.
A little while later, the girls saw what Cave considered better. Plain, white rice. “Uh… Great!” Neptune said, faking her enthusiasm. “This is a lot better than all those things we mentioned. Even soup.” Said Neptune, as she shoveled a spoonful of rice into her mouth.
“I know.” Said Cave, as she ate her portion of rice as well.
Nepgear didn’t say anything. She was a little disappointed by their meal, but decided keeping it to herself was for the best.
“If you think about it. Were lucky to have anything to eat. Were nearly out of food.” Said Vert.
“That’s true.” Said Nepgear. “Thanks for cooking Cave.
“Of course.” Said Cave, as she continued to eat her meal.
Nepgear was nearly finished with her plate of rice, when she heard her N-Gear start to ring. “Huh? Who’s this?” Nepgear wondered, as she pulled out her N-Gear and looked down at the screen.
“Now Nepgear. What did I say about using your N-Gear while eating?” Asked Neptune.
“Only do it if you can play first?” Nepgear said.
“That’s right. Hand it over!” Neptune said, holding out one of her hands.
“It’s not a game Neptune. Someone’s calling.” Said Nepgear, looking down at the screen once more. “But I don’t recognize the number.”
“It’s probably a solicitor.” Said Cave.
“Or someone hacked my hard drive and they know about the pictures!” Vert said, worriedly.
“What pictures?” Nepgear asked.
Vert blushed heavily. “Never you mind dear. Go ahead and hang up.”
Nepgear nodded. “Right.” She said, and hung up on the caller. Moments later the N-Gear started ringing once more. “Same number. I’m going to answer it.”
Nepgear pressed the screen on her N-Gear and Chika’s image appeared on the screen. “About time you picked up!” Chika snapped.
“Whoa! Sorry!” Nepgear said. “I didn’t recognize the number and Vert was worried that-”
“I don’t care!” Chika said, cutting Nepgear off. “Is Cave there?”
“Yes.” Nepgear said, seconds later Cave took a seat next to Nepgear.
“What’s wrong Chika? You look more worried and angry than usual.” Said Cave. Nepgear wasn’t sure if Cave was making a joke or not. “Did something happen?”
“Did something happen? I thought you were dead or something!” Chika snapped.
“What do you mean?” Cave said, furrowing her brow.
“The Leanbox security team arrived at the location you told us, but you and Yvoire weren’t there! We thought this Yvoire character might have overpowered you and killed you or something.” Chika said.
“Impossible. Yvoire is weak and…” Cave began. “Wait… We handed Yvoire over to Leanbox security.”
“No.” Chika said, shaking her head. “The security team arrived, but you and your group were gone. They did a search and saw a truck had driven through the area, but it was gone as well.”
“Chika?” Nepgear began. “Do you think someone might have been listening in to us when we called you about Yvoire?”
Chika turned to someone who was standing off screen. “What do you think?” She asked. A few moments later Chika’s eyes went wide and then narrowed. “Why weren’t you paying attention?!”
“So was that a yes?” Neptune asked, as she finished off the last of her rice.
“Looks like it.” Nepgear said, sighing deeply.
“I’m sorry, but it’s as you say.” Chika said, annoyed. “Looks like someone was listening in to our conversation and sent a truck to pick up Yvoire and the other goons instead. This is humiliating!”
Nepgear took a deep breath. “It could have been someone Yvoire knew.” Nepgear suggested.
“We can speculate all day, but nothing changes the fact that Yvoire isn’t in our custody.” Chika began rubbing her temples. “I’m getting a headache. I know my big sister isn’t going to like this.”
“Big sister?” Nepgear asked.
“Yes! Lady Green Heart is my big sister! She adopted me when I was a little girl. I’ve been with her since.” Said Chika.
“Oh! Right! Sorry.” Nepgear said.
“Chika? Would you like for me to head back now and see if I can find Yvoire?” Cave asked.
Chika took a deep breath, before she shook her head. “No. Big sister still wants you to escort the girls to the final Fairy Tower. I just thought I should tell you the situation just incase Yvoire tries anything else. At least then you won’t be taken by surprise.”
“Thank you Chika.” Said Cave.
“You’re welcome. I’m sorry to bother you so late at night. Please have a safe journey.” And with that, Chika’s image disappeared.
“This is concerning.” Said Vert, sighing deeply. “I never would have thought Yvoire had friends who could listen in to a private conversation.”
“Yeah.” Said Nepgear, her cheeks grew bright red. “Hey… Do you think they hacked into my N-Gear?”
“No way. That things like got all the firewalls and shields and that four digit verification number.” Said Neptune.
“Shields?” Vert asked.
“Well you know. Things that make it tough to hack in.” Said Neptune.
“I get it.” Said Nepgear, as she slid her N-Gear back into it’s holster. “Still. I feel bad for Chika. She shouldn’t have to worry about Yvoire anymore.” Nepgear turned her eyes towards her plate of rice. Nepgear had lost her appetite, but didn’t like the idea of wasting food so she continued eating.
“This is ridiculous! How could this happen?” Nepgear wondered, as she finished off the last of her rice. “Considering the fact that Yvoire had someone listen in to our conversation. Maybe I could pick up the trail and find out who did this? After that, I might be able to find Yvoire and his companions.”
“Don’t think about it Nepgear.” Neptune said, pointing her spoon at Nepgear. “I know that look.”
“Huh?!” Nepgear said, surprised. “Did you just read my mind?”
“Ah-ha! I knew it!” Neptune said, setting her plate of rice down and getting to her feet. “You want to go and find Yvoire, right? Well you can’t. Big sisters orders!”
“Neptune… Listen…” Nepgear took a deep breath. “Technically, you don’t need me to-”
“Wrong!” Neptune said, cutting Nepgear off. “I need you lots! I need you to keep me focused, keep me fed on pudding, I need you Nepgear! So no! You’re not allowed to leave me to find Yvoire!” Neptune crossed her arms in front of her chest. “If you do. I’ll really give you a spanking! Understand?”
Nepgear opened her mouth to argue, but quickly realized that her sister was being serious. “Okay… I promise.” She said.
“Good.” Said Neptune. Neptune turned her eyes to Vert and then Cave. Even though Neptune didn’t say anything, the girls knew exactly what she would have said.
“Don’t worry. We’ll keep an eye on her.” Said Vert.
“Right.” Said Cave.
“And you have permission to spank her if she tries to run.” Neptune said.
“Hey!” Nepgear said, before puffing out her cheeks in anger. “I said I won’t run. Leave me alone!” Nepgear’s anger subsided when she noticed the relief that washed over Neptune’s face. “Sorry Neptune. I really promise.”
“Good.” Neptune said, smiling warmly at her sister. Neptune quickly raked her fingers through her hair. “Enough of this already!” Neptune reached into her bag and pulled out several packs of pudding. “Let’s relax with some pudding already!” And with those words, Neptune handed the pudding out to everyone.

The sun had set by the time 5pb., Broccoli and Marvy made it to Leanbox. As the girls made their way through the city, they could tell whatever destruction the monsters had caused had already been cleaned up. “This place looks nice.” Said Marvy, looking around the many different buildings.
“True, but I still want to put on a concert here.” Said 5pb.. “People might be feeling nervous about another monster attack. I want them to feel better about it. Also we already got approval by Lady Green Heart and Chika.”
“That’s true, nyu.” Broccoli said, before she yawned and stretched her hands over her head. “Broccoli is tired, nyu.”
“It’s alright Broccoli. They’re expecting us at the Basilicom.” Said 5pb..
The girls made their way through Leanbox and was soon stepping into the Basilicom. By the time they entered the building, Chika was already waiting for them. “Welcome 5pb..” Chika said, forcing a smile.
“Thanks Chika. How’s everything going?” 5pb. asked.
“Don’t ask.” Said Chika. “Things are a bit stressful around here, but I’m sure your concert will lift everyone’s spirits.”
“I hope so.” Said 5pb..
Marvy smiled warmly at 5pb.. It wasn’t very long ago that the young musician was scared out of her mind about performing, now she didn’t seem troubled by it at all. Now she seemed almost excited.
“So these are your friends?” Chika asked, turning her eyes to Marvy and Broccoli.
“Yes. They were kind enough to escort me here.” Said 5pb.. “This is Marvy and that’s Broccoli.”
“Nice to meet you.” Chika said, bowing a little to the girls. “Since you’re all friends with 5pb., then you’re more than welcome to stay here with her.”
“Thanks, nyu.” Broccoli said.
5pb. was concerned by what Chika said, but decided not to push matters. Instead she smiled at Chika. “I’m sure you’ll have everything figured out soon.” She said.
“I hope.” Chika said, sighing deeply. “Anyways. Let me take you to your rooms.”
The girls followed Chika through the Basilicom and soon found themselves standing in their own private room. The room was rather luxurious. It had a single bed located on the left side of the room. Expensive looking paintings hanging on the walls. A small section of the room was dedicated to sitting and watching television. There was even a part of the room where the girls could enjoy a cup of tea.
“Would you two like separate rooms?” Chika asked, Broccoli and Marvy.
“Well…” Marvy began, looking towards 5pb..
“I don’t mind sharing.” Said 5pb.. “It’ll be fun!”
“Sounds good!” Said Marvy.
“Broccoli is happy too, nyu.” Broccoli said, as she leapt off Gema and into the bed. “Broccoli’s going to bed now, nyu. Goodnight, nyu.” And soon the small catgirl had fallen into a deep sleep.
“Thanks for everything Chika.” Said 5pb..
“You’re welcome. If you need anything, just pick up that phone over there and someone will pick up. Have a great night you three.” Chika said, turning to leave. “Oh! And I’m really looking forward to watching the concert.”
5pb.’s eyes went wide, but Chika didn’t notice as she strolled out of the room and closed the door behind her. “Oh no…” Chika breathed. “Another person I know who’s going to be watching me sing!”

Neptunia Heart Souls- CHAPTER 83
Neptune led the charge into the forest. Instead of running off like she normally would have, Neptune decided to stay close to her sister, Vert and Cave. As the girls walked, they kept their eyes open for any signs of humans or monsters. “I can’t believe were finally going to deal with Yvoire.” Nepgear thought to herself. “That man… He really bugs me!”
“You know what Neptune?” Said Vert, in a small voice. “I’m surprised you’re not running ahead of us. I thought you’d want to get to Yvoire first.”
“Yeah, well…” Neptune began, turning her eyes to Nepgear who walked a few feet away from her. “I know Nepgear would get scared if I weren’t around. Sometimes I got to act like a big sister.”
Nepgear blinked her eyes several times when she realized that Neptune was talking about her. Nepgear looked at Neptune out of the corners of her eyes. “W-Well… I do feel better knowing that I can keep an eye on you.”
“See?” Neptune said, giggling. “And I’m happy to be here.”
Nepgear blushed a little thanks to Neptune’s words, but she didn’t say anything else. Instead she continued to move carefully through the forest, she held her energy sword in both hands by her sides.
“This is why I wish I had a little sister. Someone I could help, or be helped by. Someone I can spoil or be spoiled by. It’s nice and sweet.” Said Vert.
“Yeah. Too bad for you that Nepgear is my baby sister.” Said Neptune, eyeing Vert suspiciously.
After walking for several long moments, the girls finally reached a large clearing. Located around the edges of the clearing were cut down trees and bushes. It was obvious that the thing that made the clearing wasn’t natural.
Nepgear looked straight ahead and gasped. Standing in the middle of the clearing was Yvoire. “So you’ve come.” Yvoire said, his voice was low and almost sounded like a growl. “I have to admit, I didn’t think you’d actually come. I thought you’d be too afraid to face me.”
“Nothing scary about an old fart.” Said Neptune, giggling. “So Yvoire, are you ready to go to jail for about a trillion years?”
“Well we don’t actually know how long he’ll be sentenced.” Said Cave, taking a few steps forwards. “Now Yvoire. You are under arrest. By Leanbox and Lady Green Heart’s authority, you will be taken into custody and face your due punishment.”
“No. I don’t think I will.” Said Yvoire, holding up a disc. “Do you know what this is?”
“Trick question?” Neptune said, tapping her lower lip thoughtfully. “Is it a monster summoning disc?”
“Very good. You do have a brain.” Said Yvoire.
“Hmm…” Neptune said, annoyed.
“Yes. This is a monster summoning disc. I didn’t know these thing existed until a little while ago.” Yvoire began. “One night while I was a sleep, Lady Green Heart came to me in a dream. She told me about some discs that could summon monsters. She also told me where I could find them.”
“Yeah, yeah.” Neptune said, waving her hand dismissively. “We’ve heard about these dreams before. We know you’re making them up.”
“Am I?” Yvoire said. “I admit I made up the last dream I told you about, but this one was different. In this dream I worked for Lady Green Heart. It was like regaining a lost memory.”
“Uh-oh….” Nepgear said, in a low voice. “Regaining a lost memory? He might be telling the truth here.”
“No.” Said Cave, shaking her head. “Lady Green Heart would never use these kinds of discs.”
“That is correct!” Yvoire said, chuckling. “In my dream Lady Green Heart told me where the discs were, but tasked me with destroying them. I can’t remember why I didn’t obey that command. Normally if Lady Green Heart commanded me to do something, I would obey. That’s why I realized something!”
“Uh-oh…” Nepgear said, once more.
“Yeah. I’m feeling it too.” Said Neptune.
“Nothing good, right?” Said Vert.
“The woman who ordered me to destroy these discs? She wasn’t the real Lady Green Heart. That’s why I didn’t obey her! I must have located the discs and hid them! It’s amazing how all that came back to me once I had that dream.” Said Yvoire, chuckling once more and holding his hands up in the air.
“And there it is.” Said Neptune, sighing deeply. “Hey Yvoire? Maybe you didn’t destroy the discs because you thought you could use them later? Ever thing about that?”
Yvoire’s smile vanished. “And then there’s you three.” Yvoire said, pointing a stern finger at Neptune, Vert and then Nepgear. “You three came to my village and you stole everything from me! New Leanbox could have been the greatest village on Gamindustri! The goddess herself would have came and lived amongst her people, but you stole that from me!” Yvoire was screaming now, his face turned bright red and spittle flew from his mouth as he raged on.
“I’LL NEVER FORGIVE YOU FOR THAT! DO YOU HEAR ME!?” Yvoire roared.
“Loud and clear dude.” Neptune said, as she started stretching her legs. “Come on ladies. Let’s get grandpa back to the home. He looks cold and hungry.”
Cave took a deep breath. “Agreed.” She said.
Yvoire began laughing hysterically. “You think you can stop me? Go monsters! Show these girls exactly who they’re dealing with!” The disc that Yvoire held began glowing brightly. When the glow became blinding, a monster appeared. “Now you’ll… What the hell?” Yvoire said, his shoulders sagged.
Only one monster appeared before Yvoire, but it wasn’t a hulking creature. Instead it was a single dogoo. The dogoo looked at the four girls that stood before it, before it’s gelatinous body turned right and began hopping away.
Neptune, Nepgear, Vert and Cave all wore confused looks on their faces. “Okay.” Yvoire said, as he dropped the disc and began rubbing his hands together. “I think you got the point.” Yvoire turned to leave, but Cave appeared in front of him in a flash.
“You aren’t going anywhere.” Cave said, placing a firm hand on the man’s shoulder.
Yvoire licked his lips. He balled his hands into tight fists and looked like he was about to take a swing at the girl, but a single look from Cave stopped him. “I’ll go quietly.” The man said.
Several hours later security officers from Leanbox appeared in a truck and loaded Yvoire and his men onboard. After Cave gave her report, the truck turned and headed back towards Leanbox.
“I was just thinking, while watching that truck drive off. Why couldn’t we drive to the next Fairy Tower?” Asked Neptune.
“The terrain will change before we reach the tower. So that’s why.” Said Vert.
“Aw shucks.” Neptune said.
“That was anticlimactic.” Said Nepgear, watching as the truck disappeared over a hill. “After everything that I’ve been feeling. Dreaming about doing once I saw Yvoire again. I didn’t think it would just end like that. No dramatic fight. No explosions or army of monsters. I thought we’d at least throw a few punches, but he basically gave up just like that.”
“It’s alright.” Neptune said, as she slid her arms around Nepgear’s waist and rested her head on Nepgear’s back. Neptune closed her eyes and listened to her sisters heart beating for a few moments. “Sometimes it’s better if things just end. Yvoire wasn’t a threat to us. There’s no way that old cootie bag could tear us apart.”
“I know.” Nepgear said, feeling a bit embarrassed by how she felt before.
“Nepgear. I love ya more then anyone or anything in this world!” Said Neptune.
Nepgear giggled a bit. “I love you too Neptune.”
“Aw! See? This is why I want a baby sister of my own!” Vert said, before a thought suddenly came to her. “Come to think about it.”
“No.” Neptune said, stepping between Vert and Nepgear.
“No not that.” Vert said, waving her hand dismissively. “I was thinking about Chika. I think she would make a great little sister. Don’t you?”

Yvoire folded his hands together and sighed deeply. “Everything I tried to accomplish has failed. What’s the point anymore? No doubt the real Lady Green Heart has forsaken me. All of this was for nothing.”
Yvoire felt a heaviness in his heart. One that he wasn’t sure how he could possibly get past. After his own village kicked him out, Yvoire along with a few believers, traveled Leanbox with him. They discovered old memories together and found the discs that could summon monsters as well.
The group thought they had finally found the right weapon to fight back against the unbelievers that plagued Leanbox. However, even that new weapon failed him. “Why didn’t I check what was on that final disc before I used it?” Yvoire wondered, bitterly to himself.
The truck suddenly came to a stop and the sounds of the trucks doors opening and slamming shut, caught everyone off guard. “What’s happening?” One of the men said, nervously.
“No doubt they weren’t planning to take us back to Leanbox. Were most likely about to die.” Yvoire said. The calmness Yvoire managed to show surprised everyone in the truck, including himself.
The back of the trucks doors were opened and the two men that were garbed in bright green armor, took off their helmets. “Hello.” One of the men said. “You must be Yvoire. You’re the one who started New Leanbox and discovered those monster summoning discs, correct?”
Yvoire didn’t say anything. Instead he looked into the eyes of his captors and nodded.
“Good.” The man said. “I would like to talk a bit about myself if you don’t mind.” The man began. “I’m a lover of technology. I’ve built small robots and giant ones. Everything I’ve ever done and accomplished was for one reason and one reason only. To serve the goddess that I love and worship.”
“Lady Green Heart?” Yvoire said, breaking his silence.
“No.” The man said. This simply response enraged Yvoire, but he kept it to himself. “No. I don’t worship Lady Green Heart, but I do understand your admiration for her. I respect it too.”
“Do you?” Yvoire said, a tinge of venom could be detected in his voice.
“Yes of course.” The man continued. “But I have to say. Something is very wrong in Gamindustri. You’ve heard about Neptune and her friend’s quest to restart the Fairy Towers, right?”
“I have.” Yvoire said.
“Same here.” The man said. “I actually think their quest is very important and I believe they need to finish that quest before we do anything against them.”
“Why are you telling me all this?” Yvoire demanded.
“According to Cave’s statement. You told her that you had a dream about the goddess. How she told you about those discs. Is that correct?” The man asked.
“That’s right.” Said Yvoire.
“Well. I’ve also had dreams like that.” The man chuckled. “Though technically they aren’t dreams. Were actually regaining our memories. Thanks to that, I’ve actually found a lot of things that I had forgotten. That’s why I haven’t tried anything yet.”
“I don’t get what you’re saying.” Said Yvoire.
The man sighed deeply. “Yvoire. You remembered those discs thanks to Neptune and her friends activating the Fairy Towers. Just imagine what you’ll remember once they’ve finished activating them all.”
Yvoire nodded his head several times. “Good point. I should have waited.”
“Should have? You act like everything’s over.” The man said.
“Isn’t it?” Yvoire asked, raising his hands and shaking the chain that connected the cuffs around his wrists.
“Oh please.” The man said, snapping his fingers. The cuffs around Yvoire and his men’s wrists fell to the floor of the truck and clattered underneath the seats. “I didn’t take you into custody because I planned on handing you over to Leanbox or killing you. I took you into custody to ask you for two things.”
“Let me guess. You want me to stop attacking those girls?” Yvoire asked.
“Exactly.” Said the man.
Yvoire took a deep, jagged breath. “I guess I could ignore those sinners for a little while longer.” Yvoire nodded his head several times as he rubbed his hands together. After that he turned his eyes towards the man. “And the second thing?”
“I want you to tell me everything you know about this.” The man reached into his pocket and pulled out the disc that Yvoire had used to summon the dogoo.
Yvoire shrugged his shoulders. “Alright, but I don’t know much.”
“That’s alright.” The man said. “Let’s go somewhere where we can talk in private.”
“Fine.” Yvoire said. “But before that. Who are you?”
The man smiled a tooth grin. “My name is G.”

Neptunia Heart Souls- CHAPTER 82
The following morning 5pb. woke up. After gathering her things, she headed downstairs where she met Marvy, Broccoli, Jane and Same. “Good morning everyone.” 5pb. said, smiling brightly at her friends.
“Good morning.” Said Sam, a small smile appeared on his face. “You did a good thing for this village yesterday. I wanted to thank you personally for that.” Sam said, extending his hand to the young musician.
“It was my pleasure.” Said 5pb., as she took Sam’s hand into her own. “Anytime I can be of service, please call me. Okay?”
“Will do.” Said Sam. Sam took a few steps away from 5pb. and placed a firm hand on Marvy’s shoulder. “And Marvy? You did a great job here too, but I think we got this now.”
Marvy looked surprised. “What are you saying?” She asked.
“I’m saying that I would appreciate it if you escorted 5pb. to Leanbox.” Said Sam. “I honestly appreciate how much you’ve done for this village, but I don’t want you to feel like you need to stay here forever. Of course you’re more then welcome to, but small village life isn’t your thing, is it?” The man asked.
Marvy took a deep breath. “I was hoping no one noticed.” Marvy said, looking at Jane and Sam to see if they were disappointed in her.
“It’s alright.” Said Jane. “It was great having you here, but I don’t want you to feel obligated to stay. You really helped us out and I’ll never forget that.”
“Same.” Said Sam, giving Marvy’s shoulder a few good pats. “That’s why I want you to escort 5pb. to Leanbox.”
Marvy felt a lump form in her throat. “A-Alright. As long as 5pb. doesn’t mind the company.” Said Marvy.
All eyes turned to 5pb. who had tears streaming down her bright red cheeks. “I don’t mind at all!” 5pb. Said, as she dabbed at her eyes with a handkerchief.
After Marvy, 5pb., and Broccoli finished eating their breakfasts they headed outside. Sam, Jane and dozens of other people met them at the edge of the village. “Good luck out there.” Jane said, to the three girls.
“Be safe.” Said Sam.
“Thank you.” Marvy said. 5pb. nodded and Broccoli saluted. And with that the three girls started their journey to Leanbox.
Broccoli sat on Gema as she followed closely behind Marvy and 5pb.. As they moved from the small village to Leanbox, Marvy couldn’t help but think about everything that had happened in the last few weeks. “I traveled with Neptune and her friends, I settled in this village for a little while, met 5pb. and now I’m traveling with her! This is so exciting!”
“Marvy?” 5pb. began, breaking into Marvy’s thoughts. “Are you sure you’re okay traveling with me right now? I hope you don’t feel like you were put on the spot.” The musician said, as she adjusted her grip on her guitar case.
“Not at all. This is a dream to me.” Said Marvy. “I’m happy to travel with you and keep you safe.”
“I’m glad.” Said 5pb..
“Broccoli is glad too, nyu.” Broccoli said.
5pb. Ran forwards a bit, before she turned around and started walking backwards. “I’m happy to be traveling with you too Broccoli! I’m really excited about this upcoming concert too! I already spoke to Lady Green Heart on the phone and she said I have her full support! This concert is going to be huge!”
“I’m glad! I can’t wait to see it.” Said Marvy.
“The great thing is. You two won’t be on security this time! You’ll be in the front row watching me sing!” 5pb. said.
Marvy and Broccoli watched as 5pb.’s smile slowly faded, her look of joy replaced with concern, before a look of abject horror appeared. “Oh my gosh! People I know are going to watch me sing!” Marvy cried.
“What’s going on?” Marvy asked, startled.
“Annoying personality disorder, nyu.” Broccoli said.
“What am I going to do?! I can’t perform like this!” 5pb. said, covering her face with her hands.
Marvy furrowed her brows. “You know. Even though me and Broccoli worked security during your show, we still watched you perform. It didn’t bother you then, did it?” Asked Marvy. “You also said you wished Neppy and the others heard you play.”
“I know, but still!” 5pb. said. 5pb. took several deep breaths, before she turned on her heels and continued walking. “It’s alright. I’ll be alright. Just don’t think about it 5pb., just keep walking. Keep walking.”
Marvy couldn’t help, but giggle. Jogging forwards, soon Marvy was walking along side 5pb.. “Don’t worry.” Marvy said, playfully bumping her shoulder into the musicians. “You’ve got nothing to worry about.”
5pb. slowly moved her hands away from her face. “Really?” She said. 5pb. Didn’t need a response. She already knew that her friend was right.
***
Neptune, Nepgear and Vert did as Cave asked and started making their way towards the last Fairy Tower located on Leanbox. As the girls walked, they couldn’t help, but wonder about the disc the strange man used to summon the two Regulus. They wondered where the man had gotten them and if they would run into those kinds of discs again.
“Anyways ladies.” Vert began. “I don’t know about you, but those strange discs that man was using made me nervous. I think we need to look further into those.”
“We should ask Histoire about them.” Said Nepgear.
“Yeah. Those discs were awesome!” Neptune said. “Imagine a game where you could summon monsters to battle for you!”
“They already have games like that dear.” Said Vert. “It’s called Pocketed Monstrosities.”
“Aw… Someone beat me to it. Oh well!” Neptune said, shrugging her shoulders. “Anyways, I think Yvoire probably had something to do with those discs, but why didn’t he use them before?”
“That’s a good question.” Said Nepgear.
“Perhaps he didn’t have access to the discs before.” Said Cave, suddenly appearing next to Nepgear.
Nepgear yelped loudly, but quickly regained her composure. “Sorry about that Cave, you startled me.”
“My apologizes.” Said Cave. “I’ve spoken to Leanbox’s security officers and told them everything we knew. Hopefully they can come up with something before I get back to Leanbox.”
“So you’re not coming with us to Lowee after this?” Neptune asked, glancing over her shoulder at Cave.
“Unfortunately I have things I must attend to here.” Said Cave.
“That’s too bad.” Said Neptune. “We could have really used your help during the last leg of this quest.”
“I’ve been giving it some thought too and I’ll probably stay behind as well.” Said Vert.
Neptune turned her eyes to Vert. “Well we’ll miss you, bye!” Neptune said.
“Neptune!” Nepgear said, annoyed by her sisters attitude.
“It’s alright.” Said Vert, giggling. “She’s just jealous about what we share together.” Said Vert, batting her eyelashes at Nepgear.
Neptune groaned loudly. “Stop hitting on my Nepgear! She’s my sister!” Neptune said. A silence fell over the four girls. The girls walked across a long plain until they reached a large group of boulders that dotted the area. The boulders ranged in size and shape and the ground under foot was littered with pebbles.
“Quiet.” Said Cave, stopping in her tracks.
“Whoa! No one’s talking dude.” Said Neptune.
Just as Neptune finished speaking, three men suddenly appeared from around the boulders. “Hello ladies.” One of the men said, smiling evilly. “Were here to get revenge for our leader.”
“And who is that?” Cave asked.
“You know him.” The first man said. “His name is Yvoire.”
“Yvoire?!” Nepgear said, in surprise. “Where is he?”
“Close.” The second man said. “Were supposed to bring you to him. If you refuse…” The men reached behind their backs and pulled out discs. “Each of these discs are filled with monsters and what’s over there?” The second man turned his eyes towards the left.
The girls turned their heads and spotted a farm. “I heard a family lives in that farm. I would hate for something to happen to them.”
Vert narrowed her eyes angrily at the three men. “You people are disgusting.” She breathed.
“Where’s Yvoire. Where are you taking us?” Nepgear demanded.
“Don’t worry.” The third man said. “See that forest over there? He’s right in there.”
Neptune started giggling. “So glad you told us!” And with those words, Neptune summoned her katana, rushed forwards and swung her blade. At first, no one had any idea what Neptune had done. The men were still standing and the smiles they wore never faltered.
“Uh… If you were trying to kill us, you failed. If you were trying to scare us-” Before the third man could finish speaking, the disc he held suddenly snapped in two. The other men’s discs were cut in two as well. “What the hell?!” The man cried.
“Behold my power! Just kidding.” Neptune said, giggling.
In a flash Cave appeared behind each man and in a series of strikes, managed to knock all three out. Now they lay unconscious on the ground. “Very good work Neptune.” Said Cave, looking at Neptune out of the corners of her eyes.
“Thanks. All in a days work!” Neptune said, holding up a peace sign.
“What do you think they had planned for us?” Nepgear wondered, aloud.
“Whatever it was, I doubt it was good. Still. We can’t just leave them here and keep going, can we?” Said Vert.
“You’re right. If Yvoire is indeed in that forest, we need to deal with him here and now. He’s too much of a threat now.” Said Cave, turning her attention towards the forest. “I hate to say it, but this is where we part ways.”
“No!” Nepgear said. “Were going to help you.”
“No.” Said Cave, turning to Nepgear. “Your mission is to activate all the Fairy Towers, correct? You don’t have time to be distracted.”
“Oh please. We’ve been distracted the entire time.” Said Neptune. “It hasn’t slowed us down yet! So were going to help you Cave.”
Cave wanted to argue against this, but quickly realized it was pointless. “Very well. I appreciate your help.” Said Cave.
The four girls ran as fast as they could towards the forest. As the forest grew closer and closer, they noticed movement amongst the trees. “Horsebird’s.” Cave said, in a small voice.
The girls summoned their weapons as a huge herd of Horsebird monsters ran out of the forest. The creatures sent mini-tornadoes ripping across the ground towards the ladies.
“Watch out everyone!” Neptune cried, as she leapt high into the air avoiding the tornados by mere inches. When Neptune started flying back towards the ground she swung her katana. The blade sliced through the air and cut down several of the Horsebird monsters as though they were made of nothing.
Neptune’s feet touched the ground and she leapt at another herd of Horsebird monsters that were running towards them. Neptune sliced through several of them, before she blocked a pair of hooves that were aimed at her shoulders. Neptune grinned, before she pushed the monster away from her using little strength.
“That’s not going to work on me!” Neptune said, swinging her sword and cutting the monster down.
Nepgear hacked through several Horsebird monsters as well, while Vert and Cave took care of the rest.
Once the Horsebird monsters had been dealt with, the girls stood at the edge of the forest. “Do you think they have any more?” Nepgear asked.
“Who knows.” Said Cave, shaking her head.
“Only one way to find out!” Neptune said, turning to Nepgear and smiling a large smile. “Don’t worry Nepgear. You and me can deal with anything together! Right?”
Nepgear nodded. “You’re right.”
“And since we have Vert and Cave with us, were unstoppable! Right?” Said Neptune.
Nepgear nodded once more. “Yeah. You’re right.” Said Nepgear.
“That’s right!” Said Vert, placing one hand on Nepgear’s shoulder. “Nepgear? You’re the strongest in Gamindustri. Nothing can stop you!”
“Nothing can stop me.” Nepgear said, in a near hypnotic voice.
“Well let’s get going then.” Said Neptune.
Nepgear shook her head. “R-Right.” She said, and with those words the girls headed into the forest in search of Yvoire.

Neptunia Heart Souls- CHAPTER 81
Marvy waited with Sam until they heard back from Jane. “Dad? Marvy?” Jane began, she didn’t sound nearly as nervous as she did a few moments before. “It looks like the monsters that attacked Leanbox were dealt with. You won’t believe it, but the people who defeated those monsters were Neptune and her friends.” Said Jane.
Sam shook his head as a small smile appeared on his lips. “I believe it. They are busybodies.” The man said.
Marvy giggled as well. “No surprises here. I’m glad Neppy could deal with it.” Said Marvy, breathing a sigh of relief.
“Well then…” Sam began, as he slid his radio back into his outfit. “I think I’ll take you up on your offer and take a nap.” And with that, Sam headed back to Jane’s restaurant.
“I’ll see you later.” Marvy said, waving after Sam. Sam didn’t turn around, but he did hold up his hand for a few moments. After that, Marvy started walking around the town like Sam would have. The girl kept her eyes open for any trouble. As Marvy walked, she couldn’t help but wonder why monsters would randomly attack Leanbox.
“That is strange. How did the guards not see the monsters coming?” Marvy wondered to herself.
After several hours of patrolling, 5pb. waved Marvy over. “Good work today.” 5pb. said, once Marvy was in earshot.
“Thanks! You too!” Said Marvy, looking out over the crowd. Everyone wore large smiles on their faces. They were all excited to see 5pb. perform. “So what do you think? Is the stage to your liking? We can make it bigger if you want.”
“Oh no, no!” 5pb. said, shaking her head several times. “The stage is great! Normally after I practice I like to rest for a while. Is that alright?”
“Of course it is. I’ll escort you back to Jane’s.” Marvy offered.
“Thanks!” 5pb. said.
As the two girls walked, Marvy thought about keeping the news about Leanbox to herself, but quickly changed her mind. “I should tell you something. While you were practicing several monsters appeared in Leanbox. They caused some damage, but no one was hurt.” Said Marvy.
“Oh no!” 5pb. said.
“Oh and guess who beat those monsters.” Said Marvy.
5pb. noticed that Marvy was smiling brightly. “Let me guess… Neptune?” 5pb. said.
Marvy nodded several times. “That’s right! Isn’t that exciting?” She asked.
5pb. giggled. “I knew it! I’m glad everyone’s okay. I think after this performance I’m going to head to Leanbox and give a concert for them. The people there might need a little pick-me-up.”
“That sounds nice.” Said Marvy. “But to be honest with you. I don’t like the idea of you traveling alone.”
“I’ll be alright.” Said 5pb..
“No offense, but no.” Said Marvy, crossing her arms in front of her chest. “Maybe I’ll ask Broccoli to accompany you. She’s pretty tough.”
“You’re worrying too much, but I won’t argue.” Said 5pb..
Once the girls reached Jane’s restaurant, 5pb. headed inside. “Hi Jane. I’m going to rest for a little while. Please get me if anything happens.” She said.
“Will do 5pb..” Said Jane, before she giggled and covered her face with her hands. “I can’t believe I said that! Will do 5pb.!” The girl squealed.
5pb. giggled in embarrassment. She really didn’t like her friends making a big deal about her.
Once 5pb. was upstairs, Marvy took a seat at the counter. “Any more news about Leanbox?” She asked.
Jane shook her head. “Not yet. I heard that they were assessing the damage, but they’re pretty sure no one was injured. That’s good.” Said Jane, looking towards the radio that was located on a microwave.
“It’s pretty cool that Neppy and the others were there to help.” Said Marvy. “I mean. What are the chances of them being in Leanbox the same day that those monsters showed up?”
Jane opened her mouth to say something, but furrowed her brows instead. Even Marvy was feeling a bit nervous after what she said. “You know what… That’s a good point actually.” Said Jane.
“Yeah… Do you think they were being targeted?” Marvy asked.
Jane took a deep breath, after she exhaled she said. “That’s a good question.”
Just as the sun started going down, the crowd that gathered in the village to watch 5pb.’s concert had grown even bigger. Sam, Jane, Marvy and Broccoli rushed around trying to make sure everything ran smoothly. Sam and Marvy patrolled the village making sure no people or monsters caused trouble. Jane prepared food and drinks for everyone while Broccoli kept 5pb. guarded.
“I’m going to sniff 5pb.’s hair if I can!” A guy said, blushing heavily.
Broccoli narrowed her eyes at the man. “Just try it, nyu.” The girl said.
A shiver ran down the man’s back. “I-I was just kidding!” He said, holding up his hands in defense. The man chuckled nervously as he inched away from the small catgirl.
Broccoli sighed deeply. “Otaku can be scary, nyu.”
“Thanks a lot Broccoli.” 5pb. said, in a small voice. “I just don’t know how to handle people like that.”
“No worries, nyu. Broccoli will handle them for you, nyu.” Broccoli said, giving 5pb. the thumbs up sign.
Just as the sun set over the horizon, dozens of lights came on. 5pb. got to her feet and headed for the stage. “It’s time to rock.” She said. 5pb. took the stage. The crowd erupted in cheers. “Hello everyone! Thanks again for being so patient! If you’re all ready, it’s time to get started!”
Everyone cheered wildly. “5PB.!” They changed.
“We love you 5pb.!” Someone cried.
“I love you too!” 5pb. called out. “And just remember! The only reason I can play here is because of Jane, Sam, Marvy, Broccoli, everyone who lives in this village, Leanbox and of course the goddesses! Don’t forget to show your appreciation to them!”
The crowd cheered even louder than before.
“Alright everyone! It’s time to rock!” 5pb. cried, as she started strumming her guitar. “This first one is called Dimension Tripper!!!!”
***
The following morning Neptune, Nepgear, Vert and Cave made their way out of Leanbox and headed for where the coordinates in the message Lady Green Heart had received. As the girls walked, Nepgear didn’t say anything. Instead she kept her hands clenched into tight fists as though she were ready to throw a punch at any moment.
“Man… It’s so early.” Neptune said, yawning loudly. “So Cave? Any idea who might have sent that message and those Regulus?” Neptune asked.
Cave shook her head. “As of right now, I have no idea. Though it’s not unusual for Leanbox and Lady Green Heart to receive threats.”
“Really? That’s surprising.” Said Nepgear.
“Not really.” Said Vert. “You have to remember that Leanbox is in competition with Lowee, Lastation and Planeptune. Not to mention the goddesses themselves are in competition with each other. It’s not unusual for someone to take things too far.”
“That is correct.” Said Cave. “But this is a first for us.”
Nepgear looked at Cave out of the corners of her eyes. She wanted to tell Cave about Yvoire and how she believed he was responsible for the attack, but she wasn’t completely sure that was true.
“I don’t trust Yvoire, but I’m not sure if he’s capable of hacking anything. He didn’t seem tech savvy.” Nepgear thought to herself.
The four girls continued their journey to the coordinates until they reached a small, white building that stood in the middle of a large plain. The building was only one story tall and it only looked to be ten feet in length and width. The building only had one door and the windows had been boarded up. “Is this it?” Vert asked, furrowing her brow.
Nepgear pulled out her N-Gear and looked down at the screen. “This is it.” Said Nepgear. “To be honest. I’m a little surprised there’s a building out here. For a minute there I thought this was a prank or something.”
“It’s no prank.” Came a voice.
The door to the building opened, but it wasn’t Yvoire who stood on the other side. Instead it was a black haired man. The man stood six feet tall, he had broad shoulders and was garbed in a long sleeved green shirt, blue pants and black boots that were tied tightly to his feet.
“Who’s this dude?” Neptune asked.
“My name doesn’t matter. All you need to know about me is that I’m here to remind people that Lady Green Heart deserves all the respect, love and admiration that her people neglect to show her.” The man said, his voice was booming.
“Are you responsible for the monster attack on Leanbox?” Cave asked.
“That’s right.” The man said.
“Do you…” Nepgear began, wondering if she was making a mistake. “Do you know a man named Yvoire?”
The man seemed surprised by the question. “O-Of course not!” He shouted.
“Oh yeah. That’s suspicious.” Said Neptune.
“I DON’T KNOW HIM!” The man roared.
“Whoa! Dude! Cut back on the caffeine!” Neptune cried, covering her ears with her hands.
“You’re under arrest.” Said Cave. “I will have you come with us quietly.”
“Of course.” The man said. “As soon as you deal with this.” The man reached behind his back. Almost immediately Cave ran at the man and grabbed his arm before he could pull out whatever he was reaching for.
“A disc?” Cave said, as she pulled the object away. “Why were you-” Before Cave could finish asking her question, the disc started glowing brightly. A moment later several Regulus appeared.
One of the Regulus appeared standing on top of the small white building. The monster sank through the roof of the building. Once it’s robotic feet touched the ground, the entire building was destroyed. The other Regulus appeared next to it’s companion.
Nepgear’s eyes went wide with surprised. “What the goodness!” She cried.
“How did that happen?” Vert asked.
“More Regulus? Man… These Regulus are starting to become regulars!” Neptune joked.
Cave smiled for a moment, but her grin quickly disappeared. “Very humorous Neptune.” She breathed.
“Oh come on Neptune! Not that joke again!” Nepgear cried, as she summoned her energy sword.
The man laughed as the other girls summoned their weapons as well. “Now witness the-” Before the man could finish speaking, the girls managed to defeat the Regulus. “What the… No way!”
“That was easy.” Neptune said, as she leaned her katana across her right shoulder. “Dude. We’ve been busting these things up all week. There’s no way they stand a chance against us now.”
“That is correct.” Said Vert, as she held her spear out in front of her.
Cave grabbed the man’s hand once more and kicked him in the back of the right leg, forcing the man to his knees. “Do you have any more discs like that?” She demanded, her voice never changed in tone. It was as calm and cold as before.
“No! I swear!” The man said, wincing in pain.
“You better not be lying to me.” Said Cave, as she reached behind her back and pulled out a pair of cuffs. After cuffing the man’s hands behind his back, Cave quickly searched his body for more discs, but didn’t find any.
“Are you alright Cave?” Nepgear asked, taking a step towards the two.
“I’m fine Nepgear. I just wish we could have searched this building.” Cave said, looking the debris over. “I’ll have some people come by and tear this place apart.” Cave turned her eyes towards the man who was looking up at her. “Don’t you worry about that sir.”
“Do what you want! You won’t find anything.” The man said, chuckling.
Cave pulled the man to his feet. “Let’s get back to Leanbox and report in.”
***
Once the girls made it back to Leanbox, several Leanbox guards took custody of the man and led him away. “As soon as I give my report, we can leave.” Cave said.
“Huh? What do you mean?” Neptune asked.
Cave turned to Neptune. “Lady Green Heart summoned me last night. She told me how important your quest is. Your quest to activate the remaining Fairy Tower on Leanbox. She asked me to escort you to the final tower.”
“Aww! Lady Green Heart didn’t have to do that!” Neptune said, giggling. “She’s spoiling us!”
“Not at all.” Said Cave. “Do you mind if I accompany you?”
“Of course not.” Said Vert, smiling warmly at Cave. “The more the merrier.”
“That’s true.” Said Neptune.
“Yes.” Said Nepgear. “But Cave? I honestly think this man knows who Yvoire is.”
Cave turned to Nepgear. “That reminds me. Could you tell me about this Yvoire person? I’ll relay the information as well.”
“Yes.” Nepgear said. “Yvoire is an elderly gentlemen who was in charge of a village he called New Leanbox. He was a fanatical who poisoned my big sister just because she was from Planeptune.”
“This is true.” Said Vert. “I had to force him to give her the antidote.”
“And he poisoned me using pudding and poison! The two things that should never go together!” Neptune said, annoyed.
“To make a long story short. Yvoire was chased off by his people when they heard he lied to them. Also that man sounded surprised when we mentioned his name.” Said Nepgear.
“I noticed that as well.” Cave thought for a few moments. “Very well. I’ll tell security about Yvoire. I’m not sure if he’s related to this incident, but if what you just told me is true, he might be someone worth keeping an eye out for.”
“Yes.” Said Nepgear, nodding.
“Very well. I’ll be right back.” Said Cave, turning to leave. “You three can start heading towards the Fairy Tower now if you want. I’ll catch up in no time.”
“Alright.” Said Vert, turning to Neptune and Nepgear. “Let’s get going.”
“Sounds good to me.” Said Neptune. “I’m ready to get this over with.”
“Same here.” Said Nepgear, as she slid her N-Gear into it’s holster. “Let’s go.”

Neptunia Heart Souls- CHAPTER 80
“That’s another Regulus isn’t it?” Neptune asked, as she pointed dully at the large figure that was slowly making it’s way down the middle of the street. The large Regulus swung it’s sword at every building that it passed, creating large gashes into them. Debris rained down from the buildings and slammed into the sidewalks and street below.
“Yeah. It is.” Nepgear said.
“Man… Regulus are becoming regulars for us, aren’t they?” Neptune said, smiling brightly as though she just told a humorous joke.
“No time for bad jokes Neptune!” Nepgear said, as she summoned her energy sword. “We need to defeat that thing!”
“Oh! Right.” Neptune said, as she summoned her katana.
Vert summoned her spear as well. “Let’s go ladies.” Vert said, pointing at the Regulus using her spearhead.
The three girls started running forwards, but before they could go far, a stream of people gushed out of side streets and started running towards them. Nepgear had to deactivate her energy sword as people rushed past her. Neptune held up her hands while Vert pointed the head of her spear towards the sky.
“Hey! Heroes coming through!” Neptune said, as she was pushed violently around by the crowd.
“Move it you idiot!” A man screamed.
“It’s going to get us!” Screamed a woman.
Neptune groaned loudly. “I’m not an idiot.” She breathed.
“Neptune! We have to…” Nepgear began, but she stopped speaking when she noticed a familiar red haired girl run past her. Nepgear watched in awe as the red haired girl ran straight into the crowd of people. Within seconds however, she emerged on the other side of the crowd without getting hurt. “Whoa! It’s her!” Nepgear shouted.
Neptune and Vert watched as the red haired girl ran at the Regulus as fast as she could. Once she was close, the girl leapt high in the air and summoned something that looked like a giant pair of scissors. Moments later she cut through the Regulus as though it were made of paper.
“Whoa! She’s tough.” Nepgear said, in shock.
“No fair! Were the main characters!” Neptune cried.
Once the crowd of people disappeared, the girls were finally able to reach the red haired girl. “Are you three alright? I wish I could have helped you, but the monster was my top priority.”
“It’s cool.” Neptune said, waving her hand dismissively.
“Um!” Nepgear began, taking a few steps towards the girl. “I know this isn’t the right time, but I saw you at the arcade a few days ago, right?” She asked.
“I admit I do frequent that establishment.” The girl said.
“What’s your name?” Asked Vert.
The girl bowed a little. “My name is Cave.” She answered.
“Do you have an older sister named Cavern?” Neptune asked, before giggling goofily. When Neptune realized that no one was joking she quickly added, “sorry.”
“Anyways. It’s a pleasure to meet you Cave.” Vert said, extending a hand to the girl.
Cave took Vert by the hand. “A pleasure to meet you as well.” She said. “I have to say. You do look familiar to me.”
“Do I?” Vert asked, furrowing her brow.
As the two girls spoke, they were suddenly hit with a sense of dizziness and a pain that appeared between their eyebrows. Vert closed her eyes tightly, while Cave rubbed the spot where it suddenly hurt. “Regaining memories is annoying.” Cave said, before clearing her throat. “Anyways, we really need to deal with the other monsters.”
“Other monsters?” Said Vert, confused.
Just as Vert finished speaking, a large carriage slammed into the ground several yards away. Turning quickly, the girls spotted two other Regulus appear. “Man. Those Regulus are becoming regulars, huh?” Neptune said.
“That was very humorous.” Said Cave.
“Thanks Cave! I thought it was humorous too.” Neptune said, putting emphasis on the word ‘I’.
“No time. Let’s go everyone!” Vert said.
Nepgear and Neptune ran at the Regulus that was close to them, while Vert and Cave charged at the Regulus that was closer to them. The girls fought bravely and managed to kill both monsters in record time.
Once finished, they met back up in the street. “Is that it?” Nepgear wondered, as she kept a look out for any other monsters.
“I don’t see any more monsters.” Said Vert.
Cave sent her scissor-like weapons away. “I appreciate your help. I actually work for Leanbox. I work as a security officer. I would like you to meet my boss.”
“Sure. I don’t mind.” Said Neptune, as she sent her katana away as well.
“Her boss? She doesn’t mean Lady Green Heart does she?” Nepgear thought.
Cave led the girls through Leanbox and soon stood in front of the Basilicom. Even though Nepgear’s meeting with Lady Green Heart was helpful and they parted on friendly terms, Nepgear was still nervous about meeting with Lady Green Heart again.
“Please follow me.” Cave said, once more.
The girls made their way into the Basilicom and soon stepped into a large room. A familiar looking room. Sitting on a couch was Lady Green Heart playing video games like before, but now a green haired girl was inside as well. The girl had her head on Lady Green Heart’s lap.
“Oh big sister! Why can’t you pay attention to me?” The girl asked.
“I’m sorry Chika, but I simply must keep playing this game.” Lady Green Heart said. “Welcome back Cave.”
“Thank you.” Cave said.
The girl named Chika raised her head and saw that Cave wasn’t alone. “Who are these people?” She asked dully.
“Hiya! My name’s Neptune.” Neptune said.
“My names Vert.” Said Vert.
“M-My name’s Nepgear.” Said Nepgear.
The name Nepgear caught Lady Green Heart’s attention. “Nepgear? Welcome back dear.” Said Lady Green Heart, finally taking her eyes off the television.
“Welcome back? Vert said, confused. “You’ve been here before Nepgear?”
“Yes.” Nepgear said.
“Oh! You’re the girl who broke in, correct?” Chika asked, getting to her feet.
“You broke in?” Vert said, stunned. “Nepgear! How could you?”
“I’m sorry. I had a good reason though.” Said Nepgear, feeling ashamed.
Vert sighed deeply. “I’m sorry Nepgear, but as your big sister I must discipline you.” Vert took a seat in a nearby chair and took Nepgear by her hand. “Now. Over my lap dear.” Vert said.
“Wait! No!” Nepgear cried, as she fought back.
Vert giggled as she continued to try and pull Nepgear over her lap. “Sorry Nepgear, but big sister Vert needs to give you a spanking.”
“Please don’t discipline her. She did have a good reason.” Lady Green Heart said. “You see…” Lady Green Heart took several moments to explain why Nepgear had broken into the Basilicom. After she was finished, Vert had released her grip on Nepgear’s hand to the great relief of Nepgear.
“I see. That does make sense.” Said Vert, scratching her chin thoughtfully.
“Still. I did ground her.” Said Neptune, crossing her arms in front of her chest. “Though, I think I completely forgot about that the same day. Oh well.” Neptune said, shrugging her shoulders.
“So… Why are you here exactly?” Chika asked.
“There was an attack on Leanbox. Three Regulus attacked our city and these three helped us.” Said Cave.
“Thank you very much.” Lady Green Heart said. “As you can see. For some reason I can’t stop playing video games. My protection over my city is completely lax. I apologize for the trouble.”
“I love playing video games too, but why can’t you stop?” Asked Neptune.
“I don’t know.” Lady Green Heart said, shaking her head. “I feel this compulsion to keep playing. If I do try to stop, I feel like something terrible is going to happen. If I’m being honest, I think it has something to do with the Fairy Towers.”
“You think that the Fairy Towers, Histoire being sealed away and our memories are all connected?” Vert asked.
“Yes.” Said Lady Green Heart. “I also have a feeling that the original Histoire may have something to do with this, but I don’t believe she’s our enemy. I believe something else is going on here. That’s why I don’t blame Nepgear for breaking into our Basilicom. Only a goddess could force these changes after all.”
“How many goddesses are in the world?” Nepgear asked. “I only know about four. Lady Purple Heart, Lady Black Heart, Lady Green Heart and Lady White Heart. Of course there are also the candidates, but I only know about Purple Sister and Black Sister. I have a feeling there are two more, but I could be wrong.”
“What makes you think that?” Asked Chika.
“I don’t know.” Nepgear admitted. “When I think about the candidates, I feel like I know them all personally, but at the same time I don’t. Almost like I dreamt them up despite the fact that I met them both.”
“Yeah it’s weird alright.” Neptune said. The girl had moved from where she was standing and was now sitting on the couch next to Lady Green Heart. Not only that, but she was holding a controller in her hands. “Hey does this have two players on it? Oh and who do I have to bug to get some pudding around here?”
“Big sister!” Nepgear cried.
“Don’t worry. I’m asking for pudding for everyone.” Said Neptune.
Cave sighed deeply. “I feel like were getting off subject.”
“Yes. We were talking about the attacks on Leanbox.” Said Chika, as she reached down and took up a tablet. The woman began pounding information on the tablets screen before she looked up from what she was doing. “According to reports, it looks like they were led here by something.”
“Led here?” Nepgear asked.
“Yes. The Regulus are robots. It looks like something hacked into their systems and guided them here.” Said Chika.
“Huh… Did you pick up a rogue signal or something?” Nepgear asked.
“Oh no. Whoever hacked the Regulus sent us a confession.” Chika turned her tablet around so everyone could see the screen.
“I hacked the Regulus and sent them to Leanbox. Now is the reckoning you deserve.” Neptune said, reading the words on the tablet. “That’s weird. What reckoning are they yapping about?”
“Who knows.” Nepgear said. “Do you think you can pinpoint where they sent that message from?”
“No need.” Said Chika. “This message also has coordinates included with it. It’s like they’re daring us to go there and stop them.”
“That’s so weird.” Neptune said. “I know I asked for pudding, but I haven’t received any yet.”
“Forget the pudding Neptune.” Chika said, annoyed. “Anyways. Cave?”
“I’m on my way.” Cave said, bowing.
“Wait.” Nepgear said, holding up her hands. “I’m going too.”
“Were all going.” Said Vert, turning her eyes to Neptune. Neptune quickly realized what Vert was saying and tried to hide behind Lady Green Heart, but it was pointless. “That’s alright Neptune.” Said Vert. “Me and my little sister will go.” Vert held her hand out to Nepgear and to Neptune’s horror, Nepgear took it.
“No way! No how! No thank you ma’am!” Neptune said, jumping to her feet.
“So you’re coming with us?” Asked Vert, smiling mischievously.
“Of course!” Said Neptune.
“I don’t think it’s a good idea to go now.” Said Lady Green Heart. “It’s already dark outside. It could be more dangerous to go out at night. Please wait until tomorrow morning.”
“Very well.” Said Cave, nodding.
“In the meantime…” Neptune plopped back down on the couch. “Let’s talk about video games and pudding.”
Nepgear didn’t say anything as she made her way over to the couch. She wore a small smile on her face, but she didn’t feel like smiling. Nepgear wasn’t sure why, but she had a feeling she knew exactly who was responsible for the attack on Leanbox and it was someone she didn’t want to meet again. “It’s you. Isn’t it Yvoire?” Nepgear thought, bitterly.
“Fine.” Chika said, sighing deeply. “I’ll bring everyone some pudding, but don’t you dare get close to my big sister!”

Neptunia Heart Souls- CHAPTER 79
It had been a very long walk, but soon the girls found themselves standing in front of the fifty Fairy Tower. After inserting the USB memory stick into the USB port on the Fairy Tower’s terminal, the girls waited for Histoire to make her grand appearance. “Wow. I wasn’t expecting to reach this place so quickly.” Nepgear said, taking a deep breath. “We only have one more Fairy Tower left to activate, right?”
“That’s right little sister!” Neptune said, smiling proudly. “And if I had to guess…”
“The next Fairy Tower is located at the border to Lowee.” Said Histoire, smiling brightly.
“Called it!” Neptune said, throwing her hands in triumph.
“Well it’s been like that for a while, right?” Nepgear asked, tapping her lower lip thoughtfully.
Neptune sighed deeply. “Nepgear. She sees wind in my sails and says, ‘not on my watch’.”
Nepgear shook her head. “No. It’s not like that big sister!” Nepgear said, hoping she didn’t hurt her sisters feelings.
“It’s okay Nepgear. I forgive you.” Neptune said, hugging her sisters arm close to her chest.
Histoire giggled as well, before she noticed something strange. “Why isn’t Vert saying anything?” She wondered aloud.
Vert had her cheeks puffed out in anger and her arms were crossed in front of her chest. “Oh right! Well we played ‘who’s the king?’ and I won! So as king I ordered Vert to keep her mouth closed and her hands to herself.” Neptune said.
“Yeah, but I feel bad for her.” Nepgear said.
Neptune giggled. “Alright Vert. You can-” Before Neptune could finish speaking, Vert had thrown her arms around Nepgear and was holding the girl close to her chest.
“I missed you so much Nepgear! You’re so soft to squeeze!” Vert said, holding Nepgear even tighter.
“Oh… Vert… You’re… Squishing…Me!” Nepgear said, struggling to speak.
Neptune growled under her breath. “Next time I win, I’m going to order Vert to carry all our stuff.” Neptune muttered, under her breath. Neptune turned her eyes towards Leanbox in the distance. “Hey Histoire? We have time to stop at Leanbox for a little while, right?” Neptune asked.
Histoire nodded. “To be honest. As of right now, I have no reason to rush you in this quest. Yes it’s important to release the original Histoire, but she’d understand that this is a long journey. You three need to rest every chance you get.”
“Great!” Neptune said, giggling with anticipation. “I really want to check out that arcade again, restock on our pudding supply and sleep in a bed.”
“Bed would be nice.” Vert said. “As long as Nepgear and I can share one I’ll be happy.”
“You get your own room.” Neptune said, putting her hands high on her hips.
“No!” Vert cried. “I’ll be all by myself. I’ll get lonely!”
“Neptune…” Nepgear began.
“Don’t worry sis. I’ll save you.” Neptune said, taking Nepgear’s right hand.
“No. I’m alright.” Nepgear said, her cheeks were bright red as her head rested on Vert’s chest. “I feel bad for Vert. We should get a room for all three of us.”
“Be-traitor face!” Neptune cried.
“No I’m not.” Nepgear said. “Please? For me?”
Neptune grabbed her heart and stumbled backwards. “For me? The one phrase I can’t say no to!” Neptune said, her shoulders sagged and her arms fell limply to her sides. “Fine. Vert can share a room with us. I would also add a few rules, but Vert’s going to ignore them, so forget it.”
“Did you hear that Nepgear? No rules!” Vert said, in a seductive voice.
“Changed my mind.” Neptune said, as she grabbed Nepgear’s hand and pulled her free from Vert. “Run!” She cried.
Histoire watched as Neptune who pulled Nepgear behind her, start running for Leanbox. Vert started chasing after them. “Farewell!” Histoire called after the girls. “I’ll see you soon!”
The girls ran until they reached Leanbox. Once there they slowed themselves down and started enjoying the city. The first place the girls went to was a small restaurant where they ordered themselves some food. After that they headed for the arcade where they played several different kinds of games.
As Nepgear wandered around the arcade, she tried to find the girl she saw before, but the bullet hell game she was playing stood empty.
“Goodness. I don’t think I’ll ever find her.” Nepgear thought, crossing her arms in front of her chest and sighing deeply.
“What’s wrong?” Neptune asked, noticing Nepgear’s look.
“Nothing really. There was a girl here last time who was really good with that game.” Nepgear said, gesturing towards the arcade cabinet. I just wanted to ask her a few questions. That’s all.” Nepgear tilted her head slightly to the right. “I didn’t say this before, but for some reason that girl looked familiar to me.”
“Yeah?” Said Neptune. “Maybe she was someone you met before we lost our memories.”
“Good point.” Said Nepgear. “Maybe.”
Neptune looked at Nepgear for a few moments before a thought came to her. “Hey let’s play it together.” Neptune said, making her way over to the machine.
“Okay.” Said Nepgear.
Neptune and Nepgear sat side-by-side
“That was fun!” Nepgear said. Nepgear, Neptune and Vert headed outside. The sun looked like it was about to set over the horizon.
“That was fun! What should we do next?” Asked Vert.
“Maybe we should find a hotel and get a room?” Nepgear suggested.
Vert giggled and blushed. “I don’t mind that idea.”
A loud scream suddenly erupted from somewhere. Neptune turned her eyes to where that scream was coming from. It was soon followed by another. Suddenly dozens of people started running.
“What’s going on?” Nepgear cried, as a stampeded of people ran past the girls, nearly knocking them over.
“Whoa!” Neptune cried, as someone nearly slammed into her. Neptune thought about grabbing someone and asking what was happening, but her question was quickly answered when a large figure suddenly appeared at the end of the street. “I think I get it.” Neptune said, sighing deeply.

Marvy woke up early the next morning and headed downstairs. After helping Jane get the restaurant ready, they awaited 5pb. and Broccoli to come down and eat breakfast. “Today’s the big day. The day of the concert!” Marvy said, barely able to contain her excitement. “I just wish Neppy and the others were here to enjoy it.”
“I know. If anyone deserves to see that concert, it’s those girls. They and of course you, did so much for our village.” Said Jane.
“Thanks, but I didn’t do much.” Marvy said.
“Nonsense.” Said Sam, who was sitting in a table on the other side of the room. “If you and your friends hadn’t hunted down those monsters we’d be in bad shape.” The man said. “Thanks to you four, we now have enough to do a bunch of repairs around here.”
“I’m glad.” Said Marvy.
“Not to mention that loud friend of yours saved my life.” Said Sam.
“Wait… What?” Jane said, not sure if she heard her father correctly.
Sam finished off his coffee before he got to his feet. “Well I better get back to patrolling the town.” The man said, turning to leave.
“Wait dad… Dad?” Jane said, but Sam didn’t stop.
By the time Marvy finished eating her breakfast, 5pb. came downstairs. “Morning…” 5pb. said, her eyes were partially closed.
“Good morning 5pb..” Jane said, before giggling. “I’ll never get used to saying that! Please have a seat. I’ll get you some breakfast.” And with that, Jane headed behind the counter and started on breakfast.
“Thank you…” 5pb. said, taking a seat and lying her head down on her arms.
“Did you get enough sleep?” Marvy asked, concerned.
“I’m good. I just need a few minutes to wake up.” 5pb. said.
“I’m sorry you had to share a room with Broccoli. I wish I could have given everyone there own room, but…” Jane said, her voice trailed a bit.
“No. Broccoli is a sweetheart.” 5pb. said. “Please don’t think badly of her.”
“Oh no. I…” Jane began, but stopped talking when Marvy shook her head.
“I think she fell back asleep.” Said Marvy, smiling warmly.
A few moments later Broccoli came downstairs carrying Gema under her right arm. “Good morning, nyu.” Broccoli said, taking a seat next to 5pb..
“Morning.” Marvy said.
“Good morning.” Said Jane.
“Mom?” Said 5pb. sleepily.
“Broccoli is nobodies mom, nyu.” Broccoli said, annoyed.
“She’s asleep.” Said Marvy. “I guess she’s not a morning person, huh?”
Broccoli shook her head. “Normally 5pb. is fine in the morning, nyu. Broccoli thinks 5pb. is nervous, nyu.”
“Seriously?” Marvy said, surprised. “I didn’t think she ever got nervous.”
“5pb. is human, nyu.” Broccoli said.
Jane finished preparing 5pb.’s breakfast and brought it to the table. After sitting a plate of food and a cup of coffee down, she gently shook the musician awake. “Huh? Where? Oh… good morning.” 5pb. said, lifting her head.
“Good morning. Breakfast is ready.” Said Jane.
“Oh? Thanks!” 5pb. said. The first thing 5pb. went for was the cup of coffee.
“So…” Marvy began. “Are you feeling nervous about the concert today?”
5pb. blushed a little before she said anything. “Just a little bit. I always get a little nervous before a show. Don’t worry. I’m ready to perform.”
“Great.” Said Marvy. “But if you’re feeling nervous or need someone to talk to, just come to me. Okay?”
“Thanks!” 5pb. said.
“Same here!” Said Jane, raising her hand a bit.
“Broccoli will listen, nyu.” Said Broccoli.
“Thank you everyone.” 5pb. said, feeling touched by the kind offers. “After my breakfast, do you mind if I check out the stage? I’d like to get a feel for it if you don’t mind.”
“Of course!” Said Marvy.
After 5pb. finished her breakfast, she headed upstairs and grabbed her guitar. Marvy led 5pb. over to the stage where she would be performing. As the girls made their way through the village, they were surprised to see how many people came to hear the musician play. It wasn’t simply the people who lived in the village who came out, but others who lived all over Leanbox.
“5pb.!” Someone shouted.
“I love you 5pb.!” Someone cried.
“5pb.! 5pb.! 5pb.!” A small group cheered.
5pb. was blushing heavily as she followed behind Marvy. Once they reached the stage 5pb. climbed on top and faced the large crowd who gathered around. “Thanks everyone for coming out to see me! The concert won’t start for a few hours, but I hope you don’t mind listening to me practice!”
The crowd erupted in cheers.
“Oh and please remember! It’s thanks to the people of this village that I’m able to perform here right now and also the goddesses who keep us safe!” 5pb. said. “Now let’s get started!”
Even though 5pb. was practicing for the concert that night, she played her heart out. The crowd cheered and screamed the musicians name. Some people sang along, while others listened to her intently.
Even though Marvy wanted to listen to 5pb. play, she knew she had work to do. Making her way around the village, Marvy soon found Sam. “Hey Sam? How’s it going?” Marvy asked.
“Can’t complain.” Sam said. “All these newcomers were making me nervous, but they’re behaving themselves.”
“That’s good.” Said Marvy, looking around. “Sam? If you want, you can go and take a nap. I’ll keep the watch going.”
Sam looked at Marvy for a few moments, before he shrugged his shoulders. “Might as well. You’re tougher than I am. Just keep walking around and make sure no one get’s out of hand or a monster wonders in.”
“Will do.” Marvy said, saluting.
Sam was about to make his way back to the restaurant when his radio suddenly crackled to life. “Dad? Are you there? Over.” Said Jane.
“Great… I knew I’d have to explain what happened when Neptune saved me.” Sam said, rolling his eyes. Marvy giggled as Sam pulled out his radio and brought it to his mouth. “Dad here. Over.” Sam said.
“Dad have you seen the news? Over.” Said Jane.
“News? What news? Over.” Said Sam.
Jane didn’t answer right away, but when she did Marvy and Sam knew something serious had happened. “It’s about Leanbox. It’s under attack. Over.”
